Aerobics Instructor(s)
Mount Pearl Y
$18/class
We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Current YMCA Group Fitness Certification or industry equivalent
- Current CPR certificate
- Acceptable Certificate of Conduct
- One year of experience delivering group fitness classes
- Ability to work with older adults, deliver aqua fitness and day time classes

Cleaning Staff
$9.25 - $13.00/hour plus other benefits - Full Time
Responsibilities:
- To perform the day to day cleaning of the branch as specified in the work schedule.
- To provide room set up and take down as required.
- To ensure that all areas are clean, safe and well organized.
- To greet members with a smile and use their names whenever possible.
- To respond to members concerns in a helpful and positive manner.
- To support and work as part of a staff/volunteer team to ensure that all members YMCA experience is a positive one.
- To attend staff meetings, planning sessions and training events as required and to learn new skills in order to play different positions.
- To be in full inform when on duty.
- To role model excellent customer service
- To model values, philosophies and visions of the Association
- To demonstrate effective communication with staff, co-workers and supervisor
- To actively participate in association fundraising projects and special events
- To be able to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
Qualifications:
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR (level C)
- Current Criminal Reference Check
- Minimum high school graduate diploma
- One year professional experience in facility cleaning
- Ability to work independently and adaptable to changing needs of service environment
- Flexible to facility scheduling

Youth Staff/Child Minding Staff
$8.00 - $13.00/hour plus other benefits - Part Time
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for specific set up and tear down of playgroup equipment. This position has a physical requirement of lifting and moving the playgroup equipment.
- Coordinate morning and/or afternoon member programs. Prepare for member programs or other games, set gym up for activities
- Coordinate weekend member programs; organize and assist volunteers. Also assist scheduled coaches if needed.
- Assist with Child Minding Member Program
- Assist with planning special events & activities
- Light cleaning duties.
- Y services are provided when convenient to participants, evening and weekend work may often be required and every Y employee is responsible to keep a tidy work area, setting up and taking down program equipment, and keeping a clean facility.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Background and/or training with youth recreation programs/community programs
- First and CPR an asset
- Current Certificate of Conduct
- Ability to work independently and be accountable for tasks
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong customer service skills

ECE Staff
$9.00 - $12.00/hour plus educational supplement. Full time and part time positions.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement an age appropriate program designed to meet the developmental needs of the individual child using the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum.
- Understand and comply with provincial, municipal and YMCA-YWCA standards.
- Interact daily with children.
- Establish and maintain positive daily communication with parents.
- Maintain a neat, orderly and clean environment, including all activity areas indoors and out, including washrooms, storage and common areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to the program, the children and their families.
Qualifications:
- ECE diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in early learning and/or school-age environments
- Additional age specific certificates (special needs, infant/toddler, school-age) an asset
- First Aid and CPR training
- Successful completion of a criminal records check
- Proven communication skills both verbal and written

Day Camp Staff
$8.00-$13.00/hour.
Qualified applicants required year round to work in our day camp programs. Forward your resume if you are interested in working with the Christmas, Easter or Summer camps.
Responsibilities:
- Provide programs and care for children in summer day camp program
- To ensure that all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to YMCA-YWCA standards.
- To maintain open communication with parents/caregivers
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children
- First aid and CPR
- Certificate of Conduct
