YMCA Healthy Kids Day 6 June, 2010
On Sunday, 6 June 2010, children and families in St. John's and Mount Pearl visited their local Ys to take part in free activities for YMCA Healthy Kids Day.
Healthy Kids Day is a nationally recognized event of YMCA Canada and is held annually at over 1,700 Ys in North America to promote healthy kids and families in spirit, mind and body. Between both locations, St. John's Y, 34 New Cove Road and the Mount Pearl Y, 25 Holden Street, over 200 kids and families were having fun playing basketball, jumping on the bouncers, climbing, drawing healthy living posters, enjoying Sammy the Seahawk and Ticker Tom mascots, planting seeds, eating healthy snacks, watching and learning some new active moves from East Rock Crew. Families interacted and the kids were active and engaged with each other.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped out with the event!

The YMCA-YWCA of Northeast Avalon would like to thank the Wellness Coalition for supporting YMCA Healthy Kids Day.
